The Simulation Technical Officer will be expected to contribute to the following outputs of the Modelling and Simulation department:

Operate as the focal point for Modelling and Simulation (M&S) innovation within the RSA and act as the single point of contact for training that utilises M&S within its delivery across the RA for both Regular and Reserves units
Support the instruction of soldiers through Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) and provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) advice to all RA training that involves simulation-based exercises
Deliver and maintain the RA M&S network, maintaining links with industry to develop and project manage future capabilities, ensuring relevance, realism, and credibility within both the training and M&S sectors
Chair the M&S Working Group with RSA stakeholders, and work in concert with the Defence Modelling and Simulation Office (DMSO), to ensure adherence to governance structures whilst enabling mechanisms to assure safety and reduce risk within training

Specifically, your roles and responsibilities will be to:

Provide advice on Technology Enhanced Learning and associated innovation matters for the RSA
Maintain and deliver the RSA Defence Learning Environment (DLE) capability as the Sub-category Manager and liaise closely with other DLE Category and Sub-Category Managers within the DLE TLB hierarchy
Develop and maintain relevant, innovative and engaging modelling, simulation and application training with appropriate training stakeholders across RSA
Attend and represent the RSA on Modelling and Simulation training working groups and associated meetings as required
Maintain own civil service Human Resources Reporting Record (HMRS)
Maintain own occupational and vocational capability; undertake mandated Continuous Personal Development as directed by RSA
Fulfil basic IT focused tasks, including facility bookings, basic equipment accounting, alongside managing spreadsheet data
