We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Lead Orthopaedic Practitioner to join our busy Trauma and Orthopaedic Department. This is a key leadership role, working closely with both the orthopaedic and clinic teams to provide strong leadership, effective unit management, and support the development of staff across the service.
As Lead Practitioner, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the orthopaedic wards, outpatients, and fracture clinics and the plaster room, ensuring care is delivered in line with Trust policy and the highest professional standards. You will take responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care to ensure our patients consistently receive excellent, safe, and compassionate treatment.
This role includes oversight of the Plaster Room service, where you will lead on the delivery of clinical care, support clinical governance and patient experience initiatives, and champion workforce development and education.
We are looking for someone who can provide kind, skilled, and expert leadership—someone with the ability to inspire and empower others, introduce innovative ideas, and drive continuous improvements in practice. As a visible and approachable leader, you will supervise and teach nursing and non-nursing colleagues, acting as a positive clinical role model and ensuring high-quality care is consistently delivered.
