About the Role - Outreach Tutor Gillingham, Dorset
As an Outreach Tutor, you will support secondary-age students in alternative education and outreach settings across Gillingham and the wider Dorset area. Many of these learners have experienced barriers in mainstream school, so your creativity, resilience, and adaptability will make a life-changing difference.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver tailored lessons for KS3 Foundation and KS4 students across core subjects.
Adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning needs in outreach and alternative provision.
Provide 1:1 and small group tuition in flexible settings across Gillingham, Dorset.
Build strong, positive relationships with students, families, and external agencies.
Monitor, record, and report on progress to ensure clear outcomes and continued development.
Requirements for Outreach Tutor Role
Teaching experience in SEND, SEMH, alternative provision, or similar.
Ability to adapt quickly and confidently to different learning environments.
Strong knowledge of KS3 and KS4 curriculum.
QTS/QTLS is desirable, but experienced unqualified teachers/tutors are welcome to apply.
