We’re looking for a Programming Assistant to support the Christmas at Wimpole evening event and help bring our festive lights trail to life.
As our Christmas at Wimpole lights trail Programming Assistant, you’ll play a key role in the smooth running of our enchanting evening lights trail. Acting as the Duty Manager during event hours, you’ll support our partners in ensuring everything runs safely, smoothly, and with plenty of seasonal sparkle.
Contract/duration: Fixed term contract until 03-Jan-2026.
Hours/working pattern: Full time, 37.5 hours per week. You'll be working weekdays and some weekends and evening work ill be required.
For this role, you’ll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role.

What you'll be doing
As Wimpole’s Duty Manager during evening trail operations, you'll play a supporting role in ensuring everything runs smoothly. You’ll help clear the site before the trail begins, support the third-party delivery team, and respond to any operational issues - escalating them when needed. You'll also support with trail admin tasks. Your warm and welcoming presence will make a positive impact on both visitors and staff, and you’ll also assist with closing procedures and nightly reporting to wrap up the day efficiently.
