What skills and experience we're looking for

As a Specialist Learning Support Assistant, your role will involve:

• Working with skilled teachers to support the delivery of high-quality classroom practice

• Supporting the learning journey of children with a range of complex needs including Autism, speech and language and early play skills.

• Delivering agreed Speech and Language, Occupational Therapy, SCERTS, ELKAN and other programmes

• Contributing to creating a positive, inclusive learning environment

What we are looking for:

• Ideal candidates will bring a positive, flexible attitude and be adaptable to work across different areas of the school as needed

• A good standard of literacy and numeracy to effectively support teaching and learning in the classroom

• We value team players who show initiative, build strong relationships with pupils, families and colleagues and contribute positively to the wider school community

• We highly desire candidates with:

• Previous experience working with children across the primary age range is highly desirable.

• NVQ Level 3 is also desirable

• Relevant experience of working with children with SEND such as: Autism, developmental delay and other SEND across the primary age range and supporting sensory regulation difficulties

• Experience of delivering agreed Speech and Language, Occupational Therapy, SCERTS, ELKAN and other programmes
