The Headteacher and the Governors of Send C of E Primary School are looking for an enthusiastic and caring Teaching Assistant to join our team. This is a wonderful opportunity to join the Send C of E Primary School family of inspirational teachers and support staff. We are looking for an enthusiastic, child-centred, and proactive professional to support a learner within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).The Role You will be supporting the class teacher, as well as working directly with children. This specific position focuses on 1:1 support for children with a range of language, social communication, and associated behavioural needs. We are looking for someone who has a sense of humour, patience, a genuine love for children and who is enthusiastic, reliable, punctual, and dependable.
Skills and Experience While we will offer training, experience of working with children would be a significant advantage, as would any qualification in school support. Experience of working in an EYFS or childcare setting is desirable. We are looking for a candidate who has particular skills in the following areas: Establishing strong, fun, and supportive relationships with children. An understanding and experience of supporting and championing learners with ASD traits and social communication needs. Experience in supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties. Is able to support young people to regulate emotions. Can support learners to manage difficulties with focus and concentration. Able to support learners to develop self-confidence and resilience.
