As a Health Care Assistant on our Bank, there is no minimum number of hours you’ll be required to work, though it is recommended to work as often as you can to keep your knowledge and familiarity with the service at a good level.
Weekday, nights and weekend shifts are regularly available, which are easy to view and book through an app. Within a few taps you’ll have the nursing shifts secured that you want. There is the potential future option to work bank shifts regionally at other Elysium services across the area.

What you will be doing As a Bank Healthcare Assistant, you will provide high-quality evidence-based support to service users in our care, and work as part of the team, supporting colleagues and always putting the needs of service users first.
As a Healthcare Assistant, you’ll get to experience what delivering great healthcare should feel like as you make a real difference to some of the most vulnerable people in society, with plenty to keep you engaged and motivated as you’re rewarded and enjoy a fulfilling nursing role. The service operates 24/7 with 12.5 hour standard shifts. As a Healthcare Assistant on our bank you’ll be on a zero hour contract, giving you the freedom to choose the shifts you want to work.

The RNOH works closely with other hospitals and trusts, with whom we have joint appointments to ensure maximum availability of specialist skills for patients. Our patients benefit from access to Aspire Leisure Centre which is located on site and hosts first-class facilities for able-bodied and disabled people.
Clinical Responsibilities
To assist with patient care needs under the supervision of a trained nurse.
Carry out nursing duties as assigned by trained staff
To work with the nursing staff to deliver individualised nursing care.
To report to a trained nurse care given to patients.
Assist patients with their dietary needs as directed by a trained nurse.
Participate in the admission and discharge of patients in conjunction with the multi-professional team as directed by a trained nurse.
Escort patients to other areas of the hospital
Acquire a basic knowledge of conditions treated on the ward, and be aware of the hazards which may result from incorrect procedures.
