Title: Learning & Development Specialist

Reports to: Chief Human Resources & Operations Officer

Contract type: Fixed-Term (12 month contract)

Hours: Part-time 30 hours per week worked over 4 days Monday- Friday

Location: Contractually based from one of our RTS offices, with some flexibility to work from home, subject to business requirements and line manager approval. Travel across RTS programme delivery as required.

Salary: Grade 3 £35,711 - £38,622 per annum FTE (Pro-rata for Part time) (5% employer pension contribution, Medicash and group life assurance, 27 days annual leave per annum for FTE plus bank holidays)

Role Summary

As the Learning & Development Specialist, you will work closely with the HR and Programme Design team to support the implementation of employee development plans, helping staff prepare for the next stage in their careers as well as designing and delivering innovative learning interventions to train staff in core aspects of our work, particularly place based change.

You will also be responsible for ensuring that all mandatory training is completed and accurately recorded. This includes onboarding, annual refresher courses, and training in essential skills identified through the staff skills checklist.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee the successful implementation of Right to Succeed’s employee development framework across the organisation.
- Design, develop, deliver, and implement identified training programmes
- Produce training materials and manuals, ensuring that training and skills matrices are constantly updated
- Coordinate training feedback from participants to facilitate continuous improvement in course delivery
- Research and recommend innovative training approaches
- Attend internal and external meetings in relation to training coordination.
Develop and embed a cross-organisation competency framework to support recruitment, development, and performance.
- Support the development of coaching and mentoring frameworks
- Work with core & programme teams to design training that is tailored to the needs of our roles
- Support on design of the peer mentoring training and traineeship programmes.
- Work with managers to assist in the identification of learning needs and how to effectively respond to these needs.
- Attend meetings with external stakeholders to gain an understanding of RTS ways of working
- Manage content creation for training
- Manage annual refresher training
- Act as the key point of contact for the organisation for training, ensuring that information and support is provided when needed.
- Create and lead an organisational learning and development schedule.
- Driving a culture of continuing professional development (CPD)
