We are a globally recognised university, focused on providing high-quality teaching, delivering impactful research and an excellent student experience. Our vision is simple: “shape tomorrow through our unique blend of the modern and the traditional, by embracing diversity, seeking out the new and excelling in education and research.”

Our people are at the heart of the University - our excellence in teaching, research and knowledge exchange depends on the engagement, capability and well-being of our people. We strive to create and encourage an environment where people have the opportunity to develop, progress and thrive.

In acknowledgement of our commitment to gender equality and progression, we proudly hold the Athena SWAN Bronze award, a testament to our unwavering dedication to creating an inclusive and equitable environment for all. Join us at Oxford Brookes University, where every step forward is a leap toward a brighter tomorrow.

The Faculty comprises a number of professional services administrative function areas. These are Academic Administration, Executive Office Administration, Partnerships and Placements Administration and Research Administration. Administrators typically work within a small to medium-sized team managed by an Administration Manager on a range of tasks and processes to provide comprehensive support to the assigned function area.

Administrators will typically be assigned to a specific function area team, but may be asked to work across function areas from time to time, or may be asked to move function areas on a more regular basis should a business need arise.

We are seeking a colleague to join our Collaborative Provision and Degree Apprenticeship Team in the Business School.

Reporting to the Liaison Manager, you will join a small team that supports our UK and International Partners who deliver Oxford Brookes University validated degrees and the Business School’s Level 7 apprenticeship provision. Our work includes developing new partnerships and ensuring quality assurance processes are followed and apprentices comply with funding regulations. This involves liaising with academic and professional services colleagues, apprentices and their employers to support the quality assurance of these programmes.

What will I be doing?
This role will provide a good introduction to working on a range of programmes and with external partners to ensure the quality of our provision.
- Using a range of IT programs to improve the efficient operation of the Partnership Team.
- Supporting communication with partners and colleagues to ensure stakeholders are informed and engaged.
- Providing administrative support for national and international collaborative programmes, including Degree Apprenticeships. Tasks will include supporting meetings under supervision, such as exam committees and University sub-committees. Supporting partner compliance with OBU Quality Assurance policies and procedures, ensuring that documents are accurate and updated when necessary.

What skills do I need?
- A good understanding of office software, including proficiency in Word, Excel, file management, email and calendars.
- Very good written and verbal communication skills, creating and maintaining a good rapport with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Attention to detail, ensuring that information is accurate and complete.
- Ability to manage time and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Adaptable and flexible: adjusting to new priorities and multitasking without losing accuracy and focus.
- Teamwork and collaboration: contributing to a positive, professional team environment.

Based at our Headington campus, you’ll experience the vibrant campus atmosphere and benefit from our modern office environment. The campus is one mile from the centre of Oxford and is served by regular public transport.
This role will be hybrid. During your induction, you’ll work on campus up to 3 days a week. Following a satisfactory probation, this may be reduced to 2 days in consultation with your line manager. You can choose to work all five days on campus each week.

Benefits
As an Oxford Brookes employee, you will enjoy a minimum of 25 days' holiday, rising with your service, plus 8 bank holidays and additional university concessionary days (approx 5 per year).
We encourage and support hybrid working where the role allows, and ensure you have the necessary equipment to work flexibly.

We have an extremely competitive Local Government pension scheme with a 19.2% Employer contribution rate, as well as providing all staff with financial education and a comprehensive employee assistance helpline.

We prioritise the well-being of our employees, both physically and mentally, and financially. That's why we provide a diverse and comprehensive benefits package to support our team.

Equality, diversity and inclusion
At Oxford Brookes, inclusivity is one of our five guiding principles: we take positive steps to create an environment where we celebrate, value and provide equal opportunity to all. We are committed to recruiting from the widest possible pool and welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates who embrace our values, regardless of their background.

As a Disability Confident Employer, we guarantee to interview any disabled applicant who meets the essential selection criteria.
