Although this position is a 12 months fixed-term contract, the actual contract duration will be adjusted to account for the time taken to advertise the post, complete the hiring process, and finalise pre-employment checks. This means the contract will begin when the candidate starts the role and may be slightly shorter than 12 months

Band 6 Critical Care Outreach Sister 1 year Secondment post

Barts Health NHS Trust, Newham General Hospital, Critical Care Outreach Service cares for the most acutely illcare of critically unwell, those recovering from critical illness and deteriorating patients.Critical care outreach was first established here at Newham in 2004 and has continued to grow and improve since this time.The Critical Care Outreach Service at Newham University Hospital is a 24/7 service. This has created fantastic development opportunities for Critical Care trained nurses who want to share their excellent skills with the wider hospital multi-disciplinary team. You will work with the established Outreach team on a training post Monday through Sunday day shifts at Newham Hospital.



The objectives of the outreach service are as follows:
• Avert admissions to critical care
• Facilitate timely admission to critical care and discharge back to the ward
• Share critical care skills and expertise through an educational partnership
• Promote continuity of care
• Ensure through audit and evaluation of outreach services

· Role model best practices

One of the ways in which we monitor patients here at Newham Hospital is using a National Early Warning Score (NEWS 2). The purpose of this score is to improve patient outcome by detecting and acting upon early signs of deterioration in hospitalised patients.





We have a strong commitment to staff development and service improvement, and many development opportunities. Our education programs, supported by our practice development nurse, aim to provide staff with basic and advance training to maintain professional growth and development.

We are now seeking an enthusiastic band 6 critical care nurse to join our friendly and professional Critical Care Outreach Team (CCOT) for a one-year secondment.You will be warmly welcomed into a vibrant friendly team and have many opportunities to develop your skills. You will need to be a registered nurse with 3 years of Clinical Experience in Intensive care Unit and 2 year post completion of the Intensive care Course.
