We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented part-qualified accountant to join our Strategic Finance group. This role is pivotal in supporting financial planning, analysis, and decision-making across the Agency, ensuring robust financial management and compliance with best practice and government frameworks.
Key responsibilities:
- Providing comprehensive information and support to business area(s) on financial matters and ensure models and reports are updated as required.
- Providing input and support to the development and/or implementation of financial policies and processes.
- Completing assignments and ad-hoc pieces of work relating to the area as agreed by the Head of Group and Unit Manager in compliance with the terms and conditions agreed at the outset.
- Developing subject matter expertise supporting and advising on relevant financial activities, standards, legislation and best practice.
- Ensuring accuracy, validity and quality of financial information.
- Developing and maintaining good working relationships with finance business partners, business colleagues, customers and stakeholders in relation to business as usual and/or development programmes, ensuring due process is followed.
- Ensuring individuals and team colleagues adhere to Data Protection, Security, Health and Safety policies and understand relevant employment law.
- To develop, maintain and analyse unit cost models to support financial planning and decision making.
- To track and monitor efficiencies across the Agency, ensuring high quality data collection and reporting and providing advice on best practice and compliance in line with the Government Efficiency Framework.
