What skills and experience we're looking for

The successful applicant will:

Have an understanding of pupils with SEN and a holistic understanding of child development.

Be reliable and flexible.

Be calm and patient.

Be able to act on their own initiative.

Be able to carry out a speech and language programme under the guidance of the Speech and Language Therapist.

Be able to work as part of a team with excellent communication skills.

Be confident to liaise with staff, parents and other professionals.

Have a professional attitude and understand the need for confidentiality.

Have high expectations for children’s learning and behaviour.

What the school offers its staff

The school and Nursery have an established reputation for being both inclusive and responsive to individual needs. We have an excellent on-site Forest School area which enables us to offer fantastic provision for children with additional needs. We also follow the Thrive approach which supports children’s wellbeing and mental health.

The school seeks to appoint an enthusiastic, patient and caring Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant for a Part Time position of 15.5 hours per week. The position is to support some of our youngest children in our 2-year-old Room in Nursery.
