Job Purpose

Within the context of the Trust, putting people at the heart of everything we do is essential. This role works with local communities to enable them to grow, develop and have a strong voice within their own communities. We support Community Action Plan groups, Community Councils, Community Asset Transfer organisations, Community Larders and other groups/organisations through established capacity building training. We support local organisations to have a meaningful partnership with the Trust and partners to influence change through the promotion of community empowerment and engagement at grass roots level. This role helps lead our place-based focus across the Trust in order to assist with the promotion, delivery and integration of the key objectives in relation to those identified within our Service Plan, Place Based Hubs, Community Learning and Development Framework and the Community Plan. Working within a performance management and continuous improvement framework, the postholder will strive to exceed the expectations of the Trust’s Strategic Vision and Delivery Plan.

Rate of Pay

Rate of Pay: £34453 - £37365 per annum.

Hours of work will be 35 hours per week as follows:

Monday - Thursday 9.00am - 5.00pm (50 minute unpaid lunch break daily)
Friday - 9.00am - 4.00pm (40 minute unpaid lunch break)

Flexibility required to work evenings and weekends as required.

This is a temporary position until 31 March 2026.

The duties of the post involve Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful applicants for such posts will be required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member in respect of Regulated Work with either or both of these groups as appropriate, or if they are already a Scheme member, be subject to a PVG Scheme Record Update, before any formal offer of employment can be made by East Ayrshire Leisure. Please note:- PVG members' records are constantly updated with any new vetting information that arises.
