Registered Veterinary Nurse – Lancaster

A long-standing and well-respected small-animal practice in Lancaster is seeking a dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join its friendly, experienced team. This practice is proudly serving the local community, independent-minded practice combines a supportive, family feel with the excitement of growth as it develops a second site.

About the Practice

The practice has earned a trusted reputation for outstanding client and patient care. Its close-knit team of three vets, four RVNs, four reception/client-care staff and a practice manager (also an RVN) share over 100 years of combined experience. Team members hold advanced qualifications ranging from acupuncture to emergency and critical care, feline nursing, and canine massage therapy, and they love sharing knowledge while keeping the workday enjoyable.

Purpose-built, state-of-the-art premises feature excellent facilities and equipment. The practice is an RCVS-accredited GP and training centre for both RVNs and veterinary students in association with UCLAN, with Silver Cat Friendly and Silver Rabbit Friendly status and Dog Friendly accreditation in progress. It also holds a Bronze IiE award and is working toward Silver.

The Role

The successful candidate will enjoy a 35-hour working week, no on-call or out-of-hours duties, and a 1:4 Saturday rota with the preceding Friday off.

Typical schedule (can be flexible to suit):
• Monday – Off
• Tuesday & Wednesday – 8:30 am–6:30 pm
• Thursday – 8:30 am–4:30 pm
• Friday (3 in 4) / Saturday (1 in 4) – 8:30 am–5:30 pm
• No Sunday hours

Key responsibilities include:
• Nurse consults/clinics
• Theatre and anaesthesia monitoring
• Preparation and ward care
• Laboratory work

Salary & Benefits

• Salary: £24,000–£31,000 FTE depending on experience
