We are seeking a proactive and compassionate Secondary Teaching Assistant with a Personalised Learning Mentor role, starting as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity to support students both in class and through tailored mentoring sessions, helping them overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.
Duties as Secondary Teaching Assistant:
Provide in-class support across a range of subjects at Key Stages 3 and 4, adapting strategies to meet individual needs.
Deliver one-to-one and small-group mentoring sessions to develop students’ confidence, motivation and study skills.
Assist teachers in planning and adapting lessons for pupils requiring additional support.
Monitor and record progress, providing regular feedback to teaching staff and parents/carers.
Promote positive behaviour and a safe, inclusive learning environment.
Ideal Secondary Teaching Assistant:
Experience working with secondary-age students in an educational or mentoring capacity.
A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2/3 preferred) or equivalent experience.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with young people as Secondary Teaching Assistant.
Patience, flexibility and a genuine commitment to supporting students’ academic and personal development.
