More detail about the role This is an exciting opportunity to join the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust as Team Lead Physiotherapist for Trauma & Orthopaedics on the Royal Devon and Exeter (Wonford) hospital site within the historic city of Exeter. The Royal Devon is a welcoming Trust, focused on valuing a persons differences and encouraging them to grow and flourish in their role in healthcare. It is set in one of the most beautiful areas of the UK with easy access to the coast and the Dartmoor national park. The post-holder is responsible for providing leadership & clinical expertise to the Trauma & Orthopaedic inpatient service at the Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Centre, and will work closely with the Fracture clinic and Aftercare teams. The post-holder is responsible for their own workload within the designated clinical area including the assessment and treatment of patients on a day-to-day basis and providing patient focused rehabilitation. The caseload will include multi-trauma, post ITU rehabilitation and spinal injury. The post-holder will be responsible for the management and supervision of the physiotherapy team including training and development of junior and unregistered staff. They will also support their occupational therapy colleagues in ensuring safe and timely discharges and will contribute to the delivery of pre-operative assessment as required. The workload may vary in response to Trust-wide capacity pressures, for example management of medical patients that are out-lied to trauma wards. Caseloads will be flexible and at times will include provision of service to other areas of the Trust. This is a permanent, full time (37.5 hours per week) position and will require regular weekend working, late finishes to support the Day Case Unit and Day 0 mobilisation and participation in the emergency on-call respiratory rota. Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week.
