Key Responsibilities:
- Work one-on-one or with small groups to reinforce lessons, clarify instructions and assist students with specific learning tasks
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and managing classroom activities
- Actively implement positive behaviour support plans and use de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviour and promote emotional regulation
- Work as a crucial link between the teacher, parents and external specialists such as speech and language therapists or occupational therapists
Qualifications and Experience:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, caring and positive attitude
- A valid DBS check or willingness to obtain one
- Previous experience working with children in a school setting
- Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or working with children is desirable
