A well-established veterinary practice in Stockport is seeking a First Opinion Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly, long-standing team. The practice boasts an experienced Lead Vet who has been part of the team for over 15 years, offering a supportive and welcoming environment for veterinary professionals passionate about delivering high-quality, personalised care.
About the Practice
The practice enjoys a loyal client base and has recently undergone a full refurbishment, providing a modern, comfortable working environment. Facilities include an in-house laboratory and digital x-ray, with a large client car park for convenience.
The Role
This is a part-time position, offering 20 hours per week across Friday and one other day. Full-time options are available when paired with another local practice, with flexible weekend arrangements (either 1 in 6 full weekends or 1 in 3 Saturdays) depending on availability. Patterns and hours are negotiable to suit the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver exceptional clinical care to patients during consultations and procedures.
• Provide clear and compassionate updates to clients.
• Maintain the highest standards of professional, regulatory, and operational compliance.
• Prepare tailored treatment and care plans with accurate cost estimates.
• Mentor, develop, and support the team to maximise their skills and efficiency.
• Manage clinical handovers and arrange transfer of patients requiring out-of-hours or enhanced care.
Skills and Experience
• RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon.
• Proven experience in delivering outstanding patient and client care.
• Strong team player with clinical leadership capabilities.
• Experience fostering a progressive clinical culture and supporting nurse consults.
• Skilled in coaching and influencing colleagues to enhance clinic performance.
