Are you someone who enjoys working with systems and be able to accurately interrogate, update and ensure that information is correct and communicated to stakeholders appropriately? We are looking for a part time medical e-rostering officer to join our established medical staffing team.

As a Medical Rostering Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the effective and efficient rostering of medical staff across our services. You’ll work closely with clinical teams, Medical HR colleagues, and medical managers to maintain accurate rotas and ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.

The Medical HR team is a small, high performing team, which has previously won the best non-clinical team of the year award. We are part of the People and OD team, based at Sceptre Point, Walton Summit.

This part time role would be for 3 days each week and there is some flexibility about the days to be worked, although we would expect Tuesday to be a working day.

Duties would include creating new user accounts for Doctors, adding rosters, creating rota templates on the e-rostering system, running reports on a regular basis and analysing and finalising bank shifts.

The postholder will update annual leave entitlements and troubleshoot queries in relation to rostering/leave entitlements, sharing their expertise with the team so others can support query resolution too. Ability to train others is also an important part of the role.

They would ensure less than full time rota patterns are set up for each resident doctor rotation.

About You
• Experience in rostering or workforce administration (preferably in a healthcare setting)
• Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel and rostering software
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
• Knowledge of NHS medical staff and terms & conditions is desirable

Ensuring safe rostering is in place for both employed and resident doctors in training will be an important part of the role, so an understanding/experience of rostering protocols and/or doctors working hours requirements would be desirable.

The successful candidate will have a passion for ‘things being right’. They will need to be a good communicator, who is able to respond to queries efficiently and display excellent customer service skills.

The ability to meet tight deadlines is important & close attention to detail absolutely essential.
