To provide a comprehensive administrative service for the WWL Medical Education Undergraduate Department, assisting in the achievement of the department’s aims and objectives in the organisation and administration of the student placements and rotations at WWL for Manchester Medical School (MMS) and Edge Hill University Medical School (EHUMS).
The post holder will work closely with the Undergraduate Assistant Manager, Head of Medical Education, Undergraduate Lead tutors and the year tutors to foster an atmosphere conducive to learning.
MMS students undertake placements at WWL in years 3-5 of their MBChB degree courses. EHUMS medical students undertake placements at WWL in years 2-5 of their MBChB degree and EHUMS Physician Associate (PA) Students undertake placements in years 1 and 2 of their MSc degree. The rotations involve academic teaching, bedside teaching, clinical skills teaching and clinical attachments.
The post holder will work collaboratively with the Undergraduate Assistant Manager, Head of Medical Education, Trust Library Services, Undergraduate Leads, and the Physician Associate Lead to develop and manage the Undergraduate Programme at WWL. This includes organising and administering all aspects of student placements.
The post holder will support the management of activities within the WWL Undergraduate Medical Education Department, providing support to Undergraduate Leads, Physician Associate Lead, Undergraduate Tutors, Undergraduate Teachers and Clinical Teaching Fellows in organising and administering the placements and teaching programmes.
The post holder will report to the Undergraduate Assistant Manager and the Head of Medical Education and Trust Library Services. They will work closely with the Undergraduate Assistant Manager to support the delivery of high-quality teaching across the Trust and assist in the day-to-day operations of the Undergraduate Medical Education Office.
