Crynodeb
• You will be trained in the admission, assisting with procedure, recovery and discharge for patients having endoscopic procedures such as OGD, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy, ERCP and EUS.
• You will gain skills in cannulation, recovering patients from GA’s and sedation, giving advice post procedure and obtaining knowledge on different endoscopic procedures carried out in the department.
• Providing excellent nursing care on a regular basis.
• Taking charge and actively participating in and contributing to the management of the ward or department.
• Supervising and mentoring junior staff. Participate in the decontamination, traceability and maintenance of endoscopes and other specialised equipment used in endoscopic and non-endoscopic procedures and providing technical assistance during such procedures.
• St. George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Endoscopy Unit is one of the three National Endoscopy Training Centres and houses the SW London Bowel Cancer Screening Centre.
• Comprises of six procedure rooms, providing facilities for both in-patient and out-patient investigations. The unit offers a wide range of endoscopy diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• The team is staffed by team of experienced endoscopy nurses, the nursing staff working in close collaboration with gastroenterologists and hepatologists.
• All the staff are committed to ensuring that the highest standard of clinical care is delivered.
• The unit provides a range of educational and training programmes in endoscopy, available to both medical and nursing staff accredited with JAG and National Endoscopy Training programme.
