A respected secondary academy in East London is seeking a Specialist Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately on a long-term supply basis.
The school is known for its inclusive ethos, strong safeguarding culture, and commitment to pupil wellbeing. Staff are collaborative, well-supported, and play a key role in maintaining a safe and nurturing environment.
Role Overview:
This is a specialist support role for a pupil with significant medical needs. The successful candidate will be confident in - or willing to train in - the following areas:
- Stoma care and medication administration
- Responding to medical situations involving central lines or mic-key buttons
- Supporting health and dignity in a classroom setting
Essential Requirements:
- DBS registered on the Update Service
- Educated to at least GCSE level (Grade C or above in Maths and English)
- Prior experience supporting pupils with complex needs, including SLD and PMLD
