Personal Assistant / Support Worker – Overnight Shifts
Location: York
Hours: 12 hour overnight shift, every two weeks / twice a month
Pay: £12.21 per hour
We are looking for a kind, reliable and flexible Personal Assistant / Support Worker to provide overnight support for a 7-year-old boy at our home in York.

About the Role
The role involves supporting with:
Preparing snacks and drinks between tea time and bedtime
Personal care, including helping with toileting, dressing for bed, and bath time
Supporting the bedtime routine and helping him to settle to sleep
Staying awake overnight to provide reassurance and care if he wakes (he may sometimes stay awake for long periods)
Essential Skills & Qualities
Patience and a fun, engaging approach
Willingness to ask for help when needed
Understanding of autism and pica
Flexibility in approach
Desirable Skills
Makaton Level 2–4
Experience working with disabled children
Experience working with non-speaking children, especially using a total communication approach
Requirements
Basic DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
Two references
