Female Personal Care Assistant/Support Worker required to assist a person with a Physical Disability living in the Rutherglen area.
You would be required to provide one to one care and assistance within their home, and in the community including attending to personal care and participation in social activities. Your duties would involve assisting with tasks such as:
• Attending to all personal care needs (showering, toileting, shaving)
• Preparing meals and healthy snacks on occasion
• Walking, swimming, exercise and assisting with participation in these physical activities
• Moving and assisting - pushing manual wheelchair
• Household shopping and collecting prescriptions
• Any other daily living tasks to promote independent living
Driver essential as you will be required to drive a mobility vehicle, supported person also drives
Must take a proactive and innovative approach to support and encourage individual to be involved in activities suited to their needs.
Favourite activities are swimming, adapted sports, music, exercising, sensory experiences and socialising.
Pets in the household – you must be comfortable working with a dog in the home.
Experience is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
The most important qualities are a warm and friendly nature and a desire to work within a caring role.
Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
Hours of Work (with a degree of flexibility)
Recruiting for (one position)
Guaranteed permanent position of 17 hours per week
Days and times:
Set shifts at set times
Monday & Friday 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Tuesday Wednesday Thursday 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
Occasional weekends and evenings may be required – to be discussed at interview
Hourly rate:
£12.60 per hour
