• Proven experience of supervising children in a paid or unpaid capacity
• An understanding of the importance of the school meal / packed lunchand the midday break as a social and educational occasion
• An understanding of the importance of safeguarding and the wellbeing of children
• An ability to work as a member of a team
• The ability to relate to pupils and to deal with them patiently and firmly using positive strategies

Our school has policies and procedures in place to deal with safeguarding issues, such as a strict selection and recruitment process for staff and regular volunteers. All candidates must be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check. As part of the safer recruitment process, candidates shortlisted will be subject to online checks being carried out in accordance with the DfE's Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance. We will not accept applicants who are not suitable to work with children and young people.
