Salary: £53,000
Hours: 40 per week (Supernumerary)

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Deputy Nurse Manager to join our client’s Nursing Home, where residents are at the heart of everything we do. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated nurse leader to support the Home Manager in delivering outstanding, person-centred care and overseeing the clinical services of a well-established home.

As Deputy Nurse Manager, you’ll play an important role in ensuring residents receive safe, dignified, and high-quality nursing care. Working closely with the Home Manager and a multidisciplinary team, you will lead, mentor, and inspire staff while ensuring full compliance with CQC standards and best practice guidelines.

If you’re an experienced RGN or RMN looking for a leadership role within elderly care, this could be the perfect next step in your nursing career.

What We’re Looking For

  • Registered Nurse with valid NMC pin (RGN or RMN).
  • Proven experience in a Nursing Home, elderly care, or long-term care environment.
  • Previous managerial or leadership experience within a care home setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong clinical assessment, decision-making, and care planning skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of safeguarding, dementia care, and CQC compliance.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Compassionate, patient-centred approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary of £53,000
  • Free parking
  • NMC fee reimbursement and full revalidation support
  • Professional development and internal career progression opportunities
  • Occupational sick pay (post-probation)
  • Competitive pension scheme
  • CQC inspection bonus
  • Enhanced parental leave schemes
  • Life Assurance cover
  • Up to 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Home Manager with the day-to-day management of clinical and care staff.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the nursing and care team, promoting a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Oversee the creation and review of personalised care plans, ensuring they reflect residents’ individual needs and preferences.
  • Act as a role model in delivering evidence-based, person-centred care.
  • Step into the Home Manager role when required, ensuring seamless operational and clinical leadership.
  • Supervise care delivery and carry out audits to maintain regulatory compliance (CQC).
  • Promote safeguarding, dignity, and safety at all times.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with residents, families, and external professionals.
  • Assist with staff rotas, ensuring safe staffing levels and supporting work-life balance.
  • Drive quality improvement, staff training, and professional development initiatives.
