Care Practitioner / Support Worker
Salary: £26,000 per annum
Location: West Bromwich
Our client is dedicated to improving the day-to-day lives of young people. They are currently seeking a dedicated and nurturing Therapeutic Residential Support Worker to join their team. As a Care Practitioner, you will build meaningful relationships with the young people in their care, supporting them to thrive and reach their full potential. You will serve as a positive role model, helping to maintain boundaries that ensure their safety while addressing their emotional and developmental needs.
In this role, you will play a key part in creating a warm and nurturing environment for their children, closely collaborating with the Registered Manager, Deputy, and Senior Care Practitioners to manage and develop their home in line with their ethos and policies. Their team is committed to stability and positive change for the children they support, and your involvement will be vital to this mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build trusting relationships with the young people and support their emotional and developmental needs.
- Collaborate with the management team to ensure the home operates in accordance with its statement of purpose and company policies and procedures.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation, including risk assessments, care plans, and safety plans, while observing safeguarding practices.
- Actively participate in case conferences and planning meetings, ensuring the children's voices are heard.
- Assist in training and supporting staff to create a trauma-informed approach to care.
- Work collaboratively with the team to promote high standards of childcare practice.
Ideal Candidate:
- Demonstrates a commitment to the wellbeing of children and the ethos of our client's home.
- Possesses a full UK driving licence held for at least 12 months.
- Exhibits resilience, a positive attitude, and a good sense of humour.
- Appreciates the impact of early childhood trauma on child development (not essential).
- Works effectively as part of a team while being accountable for individual responsibilities.
- Is keen to acquire training in therapeutic practices such as PACE and PRICE.
Benefits On Offer:
- Competitive base salary of £26,000, with potential earnings up to £32,400 depending on attendance and additional responsibilities.
- Attendance bonus of up to £1,200 per year, paid quarterly.
- Sleep-in rates of £50 per night, with a minimum of two per week.
