We are seeking an electrically skilled engineer for our client based both at their workshop in Swindon and in the field covering Oxford, Reading, Swindon and Surrounding Areas. This is a full-time, permanent role with no sift working. The hours of work are Monday – Thursday 08:00 – 16:30 and Friday 08:30 - 15:30.

The role
This position presents a unique opportunity to join a friendly team as a valued member within a company at the forefront of Fixed Gas Detection (FGD) Technology, offering structured training, long-term progression and the chance to work on Advanced safety systems across diverse sites that provide real scope to grow your skills. The wide ranging B2B customer base includes SME’s through to some of the worlds most recognisable brands, from Construction to Offshore, Motorsport to Museums.
Within this role, you will look after customers who need permanently installed systems operating 24/7 to monitor a variety of gas risk. The team’s remit includes initial site surveys, system design, installation, commissioning, handover and ongoing servicing and maintenance. Duties and responsibilities will include:
• Field-based installation, occasional repair and preventive maintenance of FGD systems
• Fault-finding and troubleshooting on detectors, sounders and control panels
Working onsite and well as time in the workshop in Swindon you’ll manage your own daily schedule, fully supported by an in-house team. Ther ability to ravel within the UK as a key part of the role and overnight stays may sometimes be required. (accommodation will be provided)
The Person
For this position we are seeking someone who has experience with Service and Maintenance Engineering who is looking to take the next step in their career within a specialist business who have a reputation for excellent and who invests in their people. We are open to considering candidates who have worked with Burglar, Fire Alarm Systems and other building management systems and who ideally have a good understanding of cabling infrastructure.
Ideally we are seeking someone with experience in fixed gas det4ection installation and maintenance however, will also consider someone in a similar role with transferable skills and electrical competence who would like to take the next step on their career and upskill while boosting earnings with guaranteed overtime. Due to the nature of this role, a full driving licence is required.
Details
This role is offered on a Full-time, permanent basis. You may also be required to travel further afield to cover absence from time to time and over night stays may be required from time to time. The working hours are Monday – Thursday 8:00 – 16:30 & Friday – 08:30 – 15:30
The salary is competitive, and the package will include a Company Van + Fuel Card + Overtime + Exspense Account . You will also and have expense account and accommodation will be paid for if an over night stay is required. There may be an opportunity to earn overtime too.
