We are recruiting for a Strategy Analyst

Overview

Are you a proactive, analytical and collaborative problem-solver with experience leading strategy, either through a top management consultancy, or through an internal strategy role? Looking for an exciting and highly rewarding new career opportunity? Energised by Nesta’s vision and the potential to have an impact on millions of lives?

If so, Nesta is looking for a Strategy Analyst to become a core member of our Strategy Unit and play an important role in helping the organisation develop and ultimately achieve its key Missions.

About Nesta

We are Nesta, the UK’s innovation agency for social good. We design, test and scale solutions to society’s biggest problems. Our three missions are to give every child a fair start, help people live healthy lives, and create a sustainable future where the economy works for both people and the planet.

For over 20 years, we have worked to support, encourage and inspire innovation. We work in three roles: as an innovation partner working with frontline organisations to design and test new solutions, as a venture builder supporting new and early stage businesses, and as a system shaper creating the conditions for innovation.

Harnessing the rigour of science and the creativity of design, we work relentlessly to change millions of lives for the better. Find out more at nesta.org.uk.

Whatever it takes

Everyone works at Nesta because we are driven by a deep commitment to our missions. A guiding principle of our culture is that we do whatever it takes to achieve them, bringing our best to all our work. You can read more about our culture on our website.

About this exciting opportunity

Working in close collaboration with your colleagues in the Strategy Unit, and beyond, as the Strategy Analyst you will help to deliver on our new strategy, which sets an exciting and ambitious goal: that by 2030, Nesta will have significantly improved the lives of millions of people. Combining rigour and creativity, we will be a world leader in driving innovation for social good.

To help us achieve this, you will be expected to:

Drive and support discrete strategic projects (e.g. to help clarify elements of Nesta’s strategy, to provide internal consulting support on key strategic questions, to define the path to our mission goals, to identify and deliver improvements in organisational functioning, and potential external-facing engagements to help respond to an ever-evolving landscape)
Help the Strategy Unit develop a view of and improvements to Nesta’s overall strategy delivery and progress
Play a role in executing future organisation-wide strategy refreshes and in answering the key strategic questions underpinning our strategy
Help refine and implement a problem-solving method for the Strategy Unit
Build strong relationships around the organisation, engage in strategic discussion and actively support the Strategy Unit’s development
What we are looking for

You will have experience working on organisational strategy gained through a top management consultancy or through an internal strategy role. You will also have demonstrated experience of project-based and hypothesis-driven problem-solving to break down and resolve complex, multi-faceted problems with senior stakeholders.

A natural relationship-builder with impressive analytical skills, you must be an effective communicator, with a proven record of delivering high-quality written and verbal outputs and a demonstrated ability to synthesise complex issues into clear and concise messages.

What we offer

Salary: £37,400 - £51,400 (offers are expected to be made towards the bottom of the band) plus array of benefits, including private medical insurance, dental insurance, the ability to buy and sell annual leave, eyecare vouchers and more

Location: This role is based in Blackfriars, London with a hybrid working arrangement with a minimum of two days in the office

Term: Permanent

Hours: This is a full-time role but we offer a range of flexible working arrangements and encourage our people to take advantage of them. Many do.

Reports to: Director of Strategy & Delivery
