Stinchar Connections is a project which involves the villages of Pinmore, Pinwherry, Barr, Barrhill, Colmonell, Ballantrae and Lendalfoot, linking these villages with each other, and Girvan. The role is until 31 March 2026 and is funded by the Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund, however the steering group is keen to source additional funding to continue the Development Officer role. It will be on a Self-Employed basis at 19 hrs per week, £20 per hour. Role will iinculde:
• Promote the Stinchar Connections provision to local residents, community groups, local businesses and service providers as well as groups outwith the Stinchar Valley.
• Support local residents to engage with services, clubs and activities within the Stinchar Valley, and help these services to develop and grow.
• Support the Stinchar Connections Steering Group to identify and manage grant applications to external funders and forge links with other partners to support a programme of external funding to help the future development of community transport provision.
• Manage existing budget to ensure that grant funding received is used effectively.
• Work with local residents and communities to determine whether the service is meeting the needs of the community as well as what improvements, if any, would be suggested from the experiences of users and the community.
• Work proactively with the Stinchar Connections Steering Group to develop transport provision so that residents can access services.
• Share the evaluation findings of the Stinchar Connections scheme once available.
• Organise community consultation, which may include events.
• Prepare progress reports for the Stinchar Connections Steering Group on a quarterly basis.
• Provide secretarial support for the Stinchar Connections Steering Group at their regular meetings.
