The post is for a full-time Senior Clinical Fellow in Urology and Gender Affirmation Surgery at the Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust. Clinical activity will take place at Parkside Hospital. Education will take place at Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust. The post-holder will be required work with the Gender Affirmation Surgery team to work closely with colleagues as part of a multidisciplinary team. They will be required to participate in audit, research and management of the service. Daytime activities (0800-1700) will be determined by the Gender Affirmation Surgery (GAS) clinical lead and will include operating theatres, outpatient clinics and inpatient duties. The post-holder will work under the guidance of the Urology consultants in the GAS team and will provide leadership and guidance to the training doctors on and ward nurses along the GAS pathways. The post holder will work within their competence and it is expected that they will continue to develop their professional expertise in general urology by continued professional development including personal study, attendance at courses and seminars. The post holder will take part in audit and will be a constituent member of the Gender Surgery MDT. The post holder will take part in clinical governance activities within the Trust and will have an annual appraisal. The post holder should possess a recognised medical degree and MRCS/ FRCS and will be experienced in urology, both in outpatient assessment of patients and operatively including endoscopic procedures and have a demonstrated interest in gender surgery.
