About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer with experience in data installations to join our engineering team supporting NATS at Swanwick and Whiteley. This role will involve delivering electrical works and supporting the installation and maintenance of data infrastructure in a critical national infrastructure (CNI) environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of electrical and data installation projects, including patching, racking, and associated cabling works.

Key Responsibilities

-Carry out electrical installation, maintenance, and testing works in accordance with current regulations.

-Undertake data infrastructure works including patching, racking, and structured cabling.

-Perform testing and inspection activities, ensuring compliance with the latest standards.

-Support project delivery and reactive works across both Swanwick and Whiteley sites.

-Ensure all works are carried out in compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

-Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reporting of works undertaken.

-Work collaboratively with colleagues, contractors, and NATS stakeholders to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

-Be available to undertake out-of-hours works where project requirements demand; such works will be reimbursed in line with company policy.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

-Recognised electrical qualifications (NVQ Level 3 / AM2 / 18th Edition or equivalent).

-Experience in data installations, including patching, racking, and structured cabling.

-Strong understanding of electrical safety and compliance requirements.

-Willingness to undergo Security Check (SC) clearance.

Desirable:

-City & Guilds 2391 (Test & Inspection) or equivalent.

-Previous experience working in a Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) environment.

-Existing SC clearance.

-Good knowledge of health & safety practices, including risk assessments and method statements.

Additional Information

-Applicants must either already hold SC clearance or be willing and eligible to undergo the necessary checks.

-Out-of-hours working may be required depending on project requirements, and will be reimbursed accordingly.
