Job title: Leisure and Community Park Supervisor
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £26,571.88 pro rata
Reporting to: Leisure and Community Park Officer

Hours and location:
There is a minimum of 1 position available, possibly 2 depending on availability of successful candidates to fulfil the required hours. We require cover for the following time periods; Saturday and Sunday – Predominantly mornings 4 hours per day.

Successful candidates will be contracted for a minimum of 4 working hours per week and a maximum of 8 hours, depending on their availability. Exact hours will be discussed at interview.

The Leisure and Community Park Supervisor will be key in ensuring we are connected to both our customers but also the wider community, always seeking to understand how we can further reduce the barriers for everyone to being more active.

About you

We are seeking proactive, self-motivated individual(s) to support the Facility Manager and Leisure & Community Park Officer in the smooth running of the volunteer led community café at Redlands Leisure and Community Park.

You will have great communication skills, enabling you to work with a wide range of organisations and groups to support the activities that take place at Redlands.
You will be a team player who works well alone as well as in a team, you will be diligent at completing tasks as requested and maintain communication with other team members.

Your role will support the overall running of the catering operations & community café including customer facing interactions and assisting with customer enquiries.
This role will build significantly on the work already done in recruiting and supporting volunteers, plus contributing to the wider work of the Charity and seeking improvement in all aspects of its work.

Flexibility in weekend working hours and availability is essential to this role.

About the role
•We are looking for an energetic individual with a can-do attitude, who prides themselves on attention to detail and providing the highest levels of customer service.
•The role involves working alongside volunteers in a busy environment which requires a weekend onsite presence, the ability to work well with others and working under pressure when multitasking.
•The role will include regular communication with colleagues, customers and external partners
• You will supervise weekend operations of the café and management of the volunteer workforce within Redlands Leisure & Community Park, including fire warden duties.
• Occasionally, elements of the role may involve lone working, you will need to be self-motivated, trustworthy, and able to follow policy and procedures.
Key responsibilities:
•Supporting the work of the Facility Manager and Café & Community Park Officer in liaising with facility users/customers and occasionally contractors.
•Carry out tasks to support the Café & Community Park Officer in areas relevant to the weekend opening day; stock control, overseeing cleanliness of the facility, promoting the café and park activities, and answering queries from customers or partners.
•Carry out necessary duties to ensure compliance with the policies and processes of Active Dorset CIO and CIC, including GDPR, health and safety, food hygiene, and safeguarding.
•Supporting volunteers to serve customers, operating till, preparing a range of hot and cold food and drinks.
NB: The duties and responsibilities of this post are not restrictive, and the post holder may be required on occasion to undertake other duties. This will not substantially change the nature of the post.
