Our client, a respected educational institution in Blackwood, Caerphilly, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. This rewarding position offers a competitive salary range of £95.29 to £103 per day, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for working with children and young people with special educational needs (SEN). As an integral member of our client's team, you will play a crucial role in providing individualised support to students, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
- Work closely with the class teacher to implement personalised learning plans and adapt teaching materials to meet the unique needs of each student
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Assist in the development and implementation of behaviour management strategies, promoting positive behaviour and social skills
- Monitor and record student progress, maintaining accurate records and contributing to regular assessments and reviews
- Collaborate with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to supporting each student's development
- Participate in relevant training and professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with best practices in SEN education
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent experience working with children and young people with SEN
- Excellent understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEN and strategies to support their learning and well-being
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to creating an inclusive and nurturing learning environment
- Proficiency in using technology to support learning and adapt educational resources
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students and the evolving requirements of the role
