Location: Near Attleborough, Norfolk, NR16 2NZ
Salary: £24,103.92 - £27,748.99 per annum (Term Time Only)
Hourly Rate: £13.49 - £15.53 (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only - 40 hours per week

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) through play? We're hiring a play practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team at a well-established SEN partner school near Attleborough, Norfolk.

In this rewarding role, you'll deliver therapeutic, play-based interventions to children aged 6 - 16 with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and communication or learning difficulties. You'll work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to promote emotional well-being, engagement, and development through both structured and free play.

Key responsibilities

Plan and deliver 1:1 and group play-based sessions

Support children's emotional, social, and cognitive development

Work under the supervision of a qualified play therapist

Adapt play interventions to suit neurodiverse needs

Record and report outcomes in line with EHCP goals

Collaborate with educational and clinical staff on individual plans

Requirements

Essential:

Certificate or diploma in play therapy/therapeutic play eg. Certificate in Therapeutic Play Skills; PTUK / BAPT Practitioner of Play Skills Qualification or similar. Equivalent to a Level 5 qualification.

Evidence of supervision received from approved and accredited Play Therapist

Desirable:

ACCPH membership for therapeutic play coaching

Evidence of ongoing CPD in areas relevant to client group and role

Evidence of training related to client group such as autism, trauma and attachment needs, ACEs, SEMH

First Aid and/or Team Teach training

Strong understanding of play-based learning and trauma-informed practice

Excellent communication and record-keeping skills

Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (rural location)

About the partner school

Our SEN partner school near Attleborough supports children aged 6 - 16 with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition, ADHD, dyslexia, and emotional or social difficulties. The school offers small class sizes of a maximum of 10 pupils per class, high staff-to-student ratios, and a full onsite clinical team.
