The team provide support to young people in care, and those leaving care, until their twenty sixth birthday. The legislative framework set out within the Children & Young People (Scotland) Act 2014 and the ‘Staying Put’ policy document underpins the work of the team. You will have regular supervision and work within an environment that has an emphasis on employee wellbeing. There is also the option to apply for a compressed working pattern to offer a good work life balance.
Main duties will include complex assessments, case management, evidenced based intervention and recording and monitoring work using an electronic case record system. You will also have some responsibility for developing different strands of the service, as well as working in conjunction with a range of partner agencies to meet the needs of the children and young people.
It is essential that you have a BA (Hons) in Social Work or equivalent; be registered with the SSSC; are committed to social work values; have good communication, IT, assessment and written skills; be able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative; and have a flexible approach.
