MECHANICAL FITTER

Carbon60 is looking to recruit a Mechanical Fitter to work for a leading Specialised Industrial Service Provider based in Leeds.

ROLE: Mechanical Fitter

PAY RATE: between £15.78p/h - £18.74p/h, around £32,000 - £38,000 per annum

JOB TYPE: temp to perm

LOCATION: Leeds (LS10)

HOURS: Full time, Monday to Friday, 7am - 4pm Monday - Thursday, 30 min lunch per day, 7am - 12pm Friday with no break, 39 hours/week.

THE ROLE:

  • Carry out Repairs to all types of industrial equipment including AC and DC motors, Motorised Gearboxes, Gearbox's, Pumps, Fan units, Generators and other associated rotating equipment. Size of component can vary significantly from one job to the next - could be a fractional horse powered fan unit, then next one could be a 5-ton DC mill motor or large vertical pump
  • To find, identify and rectify defects and worn / damaged components.
  • Have sound mechanical engineering knowledge to identify and rectify faulty and worn / damaged components
  • Good awareness of health and safety and PPE always adhered to.



THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:

  • You will be flexible and be prepared to work the hours required in a demanding and busy 24/7 service-oriented environment
  • Participate in call-out rota as required.
  • You will be used to working on-site in addition to the workshop when required
  • Health & safety will be at the forefront of everything you do
  • Qualifications- relevant NVQ/City and Guilds - Level 3 or above in a relevant electrical or mechanical engineering discipline or equivalent time-served experience.
  • UK full active driving license required
  • Understanding of technical engineering drawings
  • Able to meet physical demands of the role
  • Understanding of repairing rotating equipment even without direct prior experience can be considered
  • Site working experience and CCNSG passport is advantageous not essential, can be trained/certified by company to do so
  • Manual machining/lathing experience advantageous but not essential
