Kingdown School is looking to appoint a caring and motivated Teaching Assistant to provide inclusion support to students in its Behaviour Hub, on a maternity cover contract. This is a wonderful opportunity to join its dedicated team, who are committed to helping all young people believe, aspire and achieve.Working Hours: Part time (30 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 39 weeks per year, includes teacher Training Days). Contract: Maternity cover (effective from December 2025). Required: December 2025Kingdown School is a co-educational, non-denominational secondary school and sixth form, educating young people between the ages of 11 and 18 years. We have a strong reputation in the local community and beyond, built on an unswerving focus on the quality of teaching and learning and great pastoral care. Ranked in the top 10 secondary schools in Wiltshire, our school is located in the charming garrison town of Warminster, with excellent links to Salisbury, Bath, Bristol and the South-West. As an Inclusion Teaching Assistant, you must be able to work across all age ranges and abilities within our school and be prepared to work flexibly to support students with complex needs, including those requiring SEN and behavioural support and liaising with SLT, teachers and SENCO. The role will require you to oversee and support pupils with behavioural needs, so experience in this area is desirable. You will work in our Behaviour Hub, alongside a dedicated team of other teaching assistants and the wider SEND team.
We are looking for someone who: Has a passion for delivering high quality and exciting opportunities for young people;Has strong interpersonal and communication skills and is able to work with a variety of pupils, staff and parentsHas superb attention to detail and organisational skills;Is self-motivated dedicated and consistent;Enjoys working with young people and can develop good working relationships with them;Has the ability to deal with new challenging situations;Can be a strong team player as well as use your own initiative;Has a positive and flexible attitude;Understands and is sympathetic to the needs of young people, including their social, emotional and mental wellbeing;Has experience of supporting student’s learning;Has a current First Aid or is prepared to undertake training;Has experience working with young people with behavioural needs and /or is willing to undertake training to support young people with such needs.
