Location: Civic Centre, London Borough of Hillingdon
Contract: 6 October 2025 – 6 April 2026
Hours: 36 per week | Monday–Friday, 9:00–17:00
Rate: £22.98 PAYE / £30.00 Umbrella

Are you passionate about making a tangible difference in people’s lives? The London Borough of Hillingdon is seeking a proactive and empathetic Housing Advice & Homeless Prevention Officer to join their Central Services team during a critical period of increased demand.

✨ About the Role
This SO2-level position focuses on supporting British Citizens arriving from overseas territories—including The Chagos Islands—as part of government-backed resettlement schemes. You’ll work closely with the resettlement support team at the Civic Centre, providing tailored housing advice and implementing prevention strategies to reduce homelessness risk.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality housing advice and homelessness prevention services

Support resettlement efforts for individuals arriving under government schemes

Liaise with internal departments and external agencies to secure sustainable housing solutions

Maintain accurate casework records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation

Contribute to the borough’s strategic housing objectives during a one-off workload peak

Ideal Candidate
Experience in housing advice, homelessness prevention, or resettlement support

Strong understanding of housing legislation and local authority procedures

Excellent communication and case management skills

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, emotionally sensitive environment
