About the Job
As our Head of Procurement – Indirect, you will lead and manage the procurement of indirect goods and services for our operations
in logistics, manufacturing, and distribution. You will have a strong background in procurement strategy, contracting, supplier
relationship management, cost optimisation, and improving the overall stakeholder experience across a diverse range of indirect
categories. Additionally, you will provide expert procurement guidance and insights to senior stakeholders across the business
as needed.
As part of your key responsibilities you’ll:
* Be accountable for the strategy, contracting and performance for all strategic suppliers on behalf of Unipart (inc. all
subsidiary UK and overseas operations)
* Ensure that relevant category strategies are in place and delivering value, whilst managing supply chain risks in order to
minimise impact for Unipart
* Manage a team of Procurement Managers and give advice and guidance to the immediate and greater procurement team
* Provide internal consultancy on strategic procurement opportunities
* Work with internal stakeholders closely such as legal, finance, commercial, HR, bids and peers in procurement to drive
alignment and maximise opportunities
* Work with the other Procurement teams to deliver KPIs and other duties such as supporting supplier development activities and
escalation of issues from operations
About You

* CIPS degree or equivalent in purchasing and supply with strategic sourcing experience
* Strong commercial awareness with proven commercial and negotiation experience and sound financial acumen
* Ability to deliver to targets and timescales and to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to build strong, credible, strategic relationships with both internal and external contacts
* A high degree of initiative with advanced decision making and problem solving capability
* Excellent communication skills and ability to influence at senior management levels
* Experience of working with risk management frameworks
