Are you a good cook who is great with people and building communities?
We are excited to be recruiting for a special person to cook and help supervise our volunteers in our Rainforest Café, help us grow our vibrant community café, serving delicious, fresh food that connects with people of all ages. We also organise special events throughout the year to encourage social interaction which you would be required to assist with.
As our cafe worker, you will use your skills to maintain a high standard of quality work. In return, you will have the opportunity to work with the team to develop the café to support the local community helping Forth St Paul’s Church to invest in its parish, and support our staff and volunteers.
A current Food Hygiene Certificate and First Aid Certificate would be desirable but training can be arranged. A current driving licence would also be desirable.
Hours: 20 hours
Days: Café days – currently Wednesday and Sunday other hours flexible (to be agreed)
Salary: £12.60 per hour
Location: Forth St Paul’s Church Rainforest Cafe

The Role:
• Plan cook and serve good, affordable food
• Maintain food safety standards and ensure high standards of cleanliness
• Stock management, ordering, and proper food storage/rotation
• Keeping kitchen equipment clean and in good working order
• Completing daily kitchen records, including temperature logs and stock usage
• Ensuring food safety and allergen awareness compliance
• Co-ordinate café operations as part of a team of staff and volunteers
• Part of a team that creates a welcoming space at the Rainforest Café, a community hub for connection and preventing isolation
• Support other events and activities
What You Bring:
• Café/kitchen experience and great organisational skills.
• Compassion, energy, and a love for working in a church community cafe setting.
• Food hygiene knowledge and a willingness to learn new skills.
• Great team working skills.
