Join us as an Assistant Management Accountant

This role is office-based in Dartford on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays (9am–5pm).

We are recruiting for a results driven and commercial Assistant Management Accountant to support the drive for efficiency and value for money throughout the organisation. Your role will be broadly based, covering financial accounting, reporting and control, and business analysis.
As the Assistant Management Accountant you will be a key member of the Finance Team, reporting and acting as “number two” to the Management Accountant.

About you

You will thrive in this role if you are comfortable in multi-site, high-transaction, fast-paced environments and have a track record of improving financial and operational processes. In addition to strong technical accounting skills, you’ll bring a genuine interest in how finance drives business performance.

This role is more than numbers on a spreadsheet. You will be supporting a charity that reinvests in communities, leisure and activities that really make a difference. Your role will play a key part in keeping Fusion financially strong, efficient and future focused.

The Role:
Some of the main tasks and responsibilities of this position include, (but are not limited to):

Support the monitoring and evaluation of reporting
Support the completion of month-end close to agreed deadlines
Control and reconcile revenue collection processes, particularly monthly membership direct debits
Complete balance sheet account reconciliations
Assist in the production of budgets and forecasts
Support departments with capital and CAPEX/investment management
Identify and recommend process improvements
Evaluate company performance using financial data to highlight opportunities for improvement
Assist with the external audit process
Develop effective decision support for management teams

We are looking for someone who is:

Resilient, proactive, and a collaborative team player with a “can-do” attitude
Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
An excellent communicator with the confidence to liaise with managers and heads of department
Analytical and business-focused, with the initiative to identify opportunities for improvement

Essential Criteria

AAT Level 3 qualification (essential)
Strong knowledge of mid-market accounting software (Sage MMS desirable)
Advanced Excel skills, including handling and analysing large datasets
Ability to present clear, concise information to diverse stakeholders
