Crynodeb

Weavers Lodge in Castle Cary provides a warm, supportive, and empowering home for up to 8 adults with learning disabilities, complex behavioural needs, and additional diagnoses such as Autism, mental health conditions, and communication difficulties.

Our service supports individuals in helping them build independence and thrive in the community. More than just a place to live, Weavers Lodge is a place to grow. We’re passionate about creating an environment where the people we support, and our team members, can reach their full potential.

What You’ll Do as a Support Worker

As a Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in helping individuals live their best lives. You’ll provide compassionate, person-centred support in all areas of daily living:

Personal Support & Care
Support individuals with day-to-day personal care routines such as washing, dressing, and meals — always with dignity and respect.

Communication & Emotional Wellbeing
People we support will at times communicate using behaviours that others may consider challenging. Providing emotional support, a calm approach, and working to meet people’s needs to reduce times of distress. You will implement Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies and interventions to improve their quality of life and reduce behaviours of concern.

Activities & Engagement
Help plan and take part in activities that bring joy and purpose — from creative hobbies and social events to community outings.

Life Skills Coaching
Support individuals to develop daily living skills like cooking, budgeting, building confidence and independence.

Team Collaboration
Work closely with your team and external professionals to deliver personalised care plans, share insight, and create a consistent, high-quality support environment.

Due to the complex needs of the individuals that we support we do require candidates to have previous experience, including working with people who display challenging behaviour. Knowledge of Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) is desirable, but training will be provided.
