We are seeking a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school team on a long-term basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to help students with special educational needs (SEN) succeed both academically and socially.
Duties as SEN Teaching Assistant:
Provide tailored support to students with a range of SEN, including in-class assistance and small-group interventions.
Work closely with teachers, the SENCo and external professionals to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
Promote inclusion and ensure that students with additional needs can fully access the curriculum.
Assist with preparing resources and adapting materials to meet students’ learning requirements.
Support the emotional well-being and personal development of pupils, fostering confidence and independence.
Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant:
Experience working with young people who have SEN (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH) is highly desirable.
A patient, empathetic and positive approach, with excellent communication skills as a SEN Teaching Assistant.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Relevant qualifications (such as Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) are an advantage, but strong relevant experience will also be considered.
