My client is seeking an experienced School IT & Network Manager to join a school based in the Chester area. This is a Full-time Temporary position, starting as soon as possible and continuing on an ongoing basis.

Working Hours:
• Monday to Friday
• 8:00am–4:00pm or 9:00am–5:00pm

Purpose of the Role
Reporting directly to a member of the School Leadership Team and working alongside the Senior ICT Technician, the post holder will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the school’s computer systems, network infrastructure, software, and other technology-related equipment.
You will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the IT support service, working with a wide range of hardware and software (including servers and operating systems) to ensure the school’s IT systems run efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage and ensure optimal operation of all servers, including Microsoft Hyper-V (physical and virtual), liaising with off-site technical support as required.
• Promote the effective use and understanding of ICT across the school community (staff, pupils, parents, and governors).
• Manage and maintain all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and VoIP systems.
• Support the development and maintenance of the Management Information System (iSAMS), working closely with the Data Manager.
• Build, test, and maintain base images for servers and PCs, both physical and virtual, within the VDI infrastructure.
• Monitor systems via eSafety software and report inappropriate usage to the relevant colleagues.
• Maintain all IT-related policies in liaison with the Head / Executive PA.
• Oversee the school’s backup strategy, including control of the backup server.
• Manage global Microsoft 365 administration.
• Implement and maintain virus protection strategy and systems.
• Carry out minor hardware repairs and coordinate external repairs when necessary to ensure cost-effective availability of IT equipment.
• Support and maintain classroom technology (e.g., touchscreens, interactive boards, and peripherals).
