Role Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Commercial Business Analyst with a deep understanding of African markets, particularly the banking and financial services sector, to drive insight and growth for our Africa-focused commercial initiatives. You will analyse financial, operational, and market data to provide actionable insights, inform decision-making, and drive commercial success across the business. This role is open to candidates who require visa sponsorship and offers an opportunity to grow within a dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:
Financial & Operational Analysis
• Analyse revenue streams, cost structures, and profitability by product, service, and customer segment.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop dashboards for real-time business monitoring.
• Identify efficiency gaps and recommend solutions for operational improvements.

Market & Competitive Intelligence
• Research industry trends, customer behaviours, and competitor activities.
• Assess new market opportunities and prepare business cases for expansion.
• Support pricing strategy and commercial modelling.

Business Planning & Forecasting
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning.
• Develop financial models to assess business opportunities and risks.
• Partner with internal teams to align data-driven insights with strategic goals.

Decision Support
• Prepare reports and presentations for senior management, board meetings, and stakeholders.
• Provide insights to support investment decisions, partnerships, and new initiatives.

To be successful in this role you must have:
• Degree (or equivalent) in business, finance, economics, analytics, or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in Excel or similar modelling tools.
• Strong understanding of African financial markets and banking operations, with proven experience working with African banks or financial institutions.
• Experience working in or with pan-African or multinational organisations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to present complex data clearly.
• Experience in commercial, business, or financial analysis (2–4 years typical).
• Ability to prioritise effectively, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
• Experience in market research, pricing analysis, or performance reporting is highly desirable.
