Crynodeb
Our company is looking for highly-motivated individuals to grow with our small business as a van driver/waste operative based in Gloucester. All applicants need to be over the age of 24 (for insurance purposes) and hold a clean Full UK License. A DBS check will also be required.
The ideal candidate will be confident driving long distances (sometimes rural), physically capable of lifting bulky/heavy items and confident to complete paperwork accurately. We are looking for operatives that can work independently and responsibly, and demonstrate a commitment to excellent customer service.
The Van Driver will be required to drive our vans throughout the day and ensure that the vehicle is tidy and safe for waste collection purposes. Our Van Drivers are expected to complete jobs timeously and with accuracy, maintaining a safe environment for both staff and customers.
Responsibilities:
Collecting of waste from customers to dispose at designated disposal sites - Examples of jobs: Moving Furniture as part of a two-person team from inside a property (beds, washing machines, sofas etc). Clearing installation waste (bagged and loose) from inside or outside properties. Undertaking site/office clearances. Emptying wheelie bins when the regular contractor has been unable to attend due to a service issue or overloading of the bins.
Segregate waste to ensure maximum recycling potential
Drive a van (sometimes with a full load) on city and rural roads.
Drive at night (in the dark in winter).
Physically capable of manual labour and heavy lifting.
Communicate with customers in a polite and professional manner.
Complete documentation and admin accurately for every job
2 man teams will be provided where necessary, and lone working when possible.
