As a Senior BA within DWP Digital you will lead business analysis activities within large complex Digital programmes, often across several teams and may include multiple technical delivery strands, in the delivery of service improvements.
Use your delivery expertise to translate business and user needs into clear, actionable outcomes. Collaborate across teams and engage senior stakeholders to prioritise initiatives that support strategic goals. As a key member of the Business Analysis community, you'll help shape our practice, develop your leadership skills, and support others in their growth as we adapt to evolving business needs.
We have vacancies in a number of areas within DWP Digital including:
- Technical Services Delivery - Supporting senior-level delivery of key DWP services by coordinating technical change across IT and infrastructure.
- Health and Disability Data and Analysis Team - Health and Disability Data and Analysis Team - Leading business analysis activities and supporting the senior product manager on long term product strategy and roadmaps across a range of strategic priorities, including data on DWPs brand-new Personal Independence Payment Service.
- Health Transformation Programme (HTP) - to improve the experience for Personal Independence Payment claimants and those needing health assessments. We support this transformation through forward-looking analysis, insight, and cross-team collaboration.
- Payment Services - DWP is the UK’s largest payer, handling over £260bn annually for 22 million citizens. We're transforming payment services using emerging banking technologies to ensure accurate, timely payments.
- Working Age Services - Digital Working Age Services in DWP delivers Universal Credit to over 6 million customers. It delivers financial support to some of most vulnerable people is society and delivers a range of products that help towards finding sustainable employment.
- Fraud & Error - DWP supports 22 million people with complex benefits, where some fraud and error is inevitable. Our digital fraud and error team develops solutions to detect and prevent issues, working closely with practitioners and stakeholders across benefit lines.
- Health and Disability Delivery Team and the Functional Assessment Service - responsible for the management of several IT assets supporting DWP’s most vulnerable customers.

Roles and Responsibilities:
As a Senior BA working within DWP Digital these are some of the things you will be doing:
You will:
- Work on large, complex, cross cutting products or services. Or, across a number of products or services simultaneously. Enabling the delivery of digital solutions to achieve strategic business outcomes.
- Lead workshops, interviews and focus groups to effectively understand business problems and user needs within large complex, cross cutting products or services.
- Collaborate with and communicate effectively across senior technical and business stakeholders, ensuring the understanding of requirements and acceptance criteria is aligned to our established Digital roadmaps.
- Understand the business processes and activities that impact and that are impacted by the product or service whilst developing an understanding of how the product or service aligns with the wider strategy of the department.
- Lead BA activities and initiatives and will champion continual learning & development within the BA community.
- Be a leading member of the BA community, taking on leadership and line management responsibilities of BA’s, where required. Additionally, you will play a significant role in capability building and recruitment when required.
- Encourage and promote DWP Digital delivery methodologies, setting standards across the function and working to educate the BA teams working across the functions on principles, methods and tools to support their development.
