The Opportunity

Based in our friendly Student Recruitment team, you will be supporting a wide range of audiences with clear and helpful information, advice, and guidance. You will work with 14–19-year-olds, primary and secondary schools, colleges, sixth forms, adults, parents, and a variety of internal and external stakeholders, helping them explore courses, career pathways, and opportunities across the College.

You will take the lead in planning and delivering engaging information activities and events, from small group sessions to larger presentations, ensuring every interaction is informative and tailored to your audience. Building strong relationships with students, parents, schools, and partner organisations will be a key part of your role, helping to raise the profile and reputation of both the College and the Information Advice and Guidance service.

You will keep accurate records of enquiries and activities, evaluate the impact of your events, and contribute to reports that help shape future planning and development. You will also work closely with your colleagues in Student Recruitment and Marketing to organise promotional materials and activities and represent the College at external events such as UCAS conventions and careers fairs.

This is a great opportunity to engage with a diverse range of audiences, from young students to adults, parents, schools, and colleges. The variety ensures the role is dynamic and keeps every day interesting, as you help people explore courses, careers, and opportunities that can help shape futures.

About You

You are approachable, organised, and confident when engaging with a wide range of people. You enjoy working with young people and adults, and you feel comfortable delivering presentations while providing clear and accurate guidance on courses, pathways, and career options.

You bring at least two years’ experience in a customer-focused environment, using a wide range of administrative processes and procedures. You have experience working with a variety of client groups, providing a comprehensive Information, Advice, and Guidance (IAG) service. You are confident in recording data, producing reports, and evaluating the impact of your activities to inform future planning.

You have experience organising events and activities, and you are skilled at building and developing positive relationships with colleagues, external partners, and organisations. Your strong communication and interpersonal skills enable you to connect with students, parents, schools, and stakeholders, ensuring every interaction is professional and effective.

You are flexible and proactive, able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of service. You either hold, or are willing to work towards, a Level 4 Information Advice and Guidance qualification. Confident using IT systems and presenting to both small and large groups, you are motivated to make a positive impact on the student journey and represent the College with clarity, energy, and professionalism.

Ultimately, we are looking for someone who is passionate about helping others explore opportunities, motivated to make a positive difference, and adaptable in a dynamic, busy environment.

Below is a list of some of the key skills, qualifications and experience we are seeking for this exciting opportunity.
