Ensure that nursing care is delivered to a high standard and that the nursing resource is managed and developed effectively. She/he contributes to the ongoing implementation of the national nursing and midwifery strategy within the contexts of BTHFT and the Care Group, ensuring achievement of Trust objectives and proactively modernising nursing roles in accordance with the needs of patients. Act as a role model and be a point of contact for advice and expertise on all matters relating to professional nursing issues. In so doing will lead the design and delivery of new nursing roles, integrated pathways of care with health and social care partners and along with the Deputy operations Medical director and Clinical Directors will lead a high focus on clinical governance within the childrens CSU. Be visible, accessible and identifiable to patients and their families, and an authoritative figure providing assistance and support, with patient safety and experience as paramount. Represent nursing services at Trust level and work with internal and external partners in the development and influence of service development and service redesign. Ensure that the nursing function is proactive and influential in its contribution to Care Group, Trust and System wide operational and strategic plans. Provide professional advice to the Care Group and Trust which ensures the optimal deployment of the nursing workforce to guarantee that high-quality patient care and patient safety is given the highest priority.
